Libations and Package Stores

There are package stores, bars, and fully licensed eateries in the towns of Edgartown and Oak Bluffs. This past year Vineyard Haven voted to allow town restaurants to be fully licensed too, but you must order food if you want to have a drink. And the formerly dry towns of West Tisbury and Aquinnah have passed referendums that allow restaurants to serve beer and wine, so now you can order a bottle of bubbly, vino, or brew to toast any celebratory occasion at most fine dining establishments throughout the Island. In the only remaining dry town of Chilmark (including the village of Menemsha), you’re likely to find a BYOB policy allowing you to bring in libations. (There might be a cork fee.)
